WHAT YOU GET

The power systems toolbox, without the bundle

SPS Software picks up exactly where SimPowerSystems left off. Same physics-based modelling, same Simulink workflow, now independent from the MathWorks bundle.

Power Systems & Power Electronics Modeling

Physics-based component libraries with EMT-level precision. Build and validate everything from distribution feeders to converter topologies in one environment.

    • 500+ component blocks for power systems and power electronics
    • EMT-level simulation fidelity by default
    • Fault analysis, protection coordination, and power quality studies
    • Converter design with switching-level accuracy

Desktop to Real-Time Hardware

Take your desktop model directly to OPAL-RT hardware-in-the-loop platforms without rebuilding or translating. This is the native integration that Simscape Electrical cannot offer.

    • Native RT-LAB and OPAL-RT platform support
    • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing workflows
    • C-code generation for embedded deployment
    • Zero model translation between desktop and real-time

FAQ

Common Questions

Quick answers to the questions engineers ask most when switching.

What happens to my existing Simscape Electrical models?

Your SimPowerSystems-based models work directly in SPS Software with no modification. SPS Software is the active continuation of the same codebase, so block libraries, parameterization, and solver behavior carry over as-is.

What does honoring my existing agreement mean?

If you are currently under a MathWorks license agreement, we will match your remaining term so you can start using SPS Software without paying for overlapping coverage. Contact our team and we will work out the details based on your specific agreement.

How does SPS Software compare to Simscape Electrical?

SPS Software is a dedicated power systems and power electronics toolbox with transparent standalone pricing, EMT-level precision by default, and native OPAL-RT HIL integration. Simscape Electrical is part of the broader Simscape suite and requires a bundled MATLAB + Simulink + Simscape license stack.

Does SPS Software work with OPAL-RT real-time platforms?

Yes. SPS Software has native compatibility with RT-LAB and OPAL-RT hardware-in-the-loop platforms. You can take your desktop model directly to real-time simulation without rebuilding or translating the model.

What is included in the 15-day free trial?

Full access to SPS Software with all component libraries. No credit card required. You will have 15 days to build, simulate, and evaluate the tool in your own workflow.

Do I need MATLAB and Simulink to use SPS Software?

SPS Software runs inside Simulink, so you do need MATLAB and Simulink. The difference is that SPS Software itself is a standalone product. You do not need Simscape or any other MathWorks toolbox add-on to run it.
